The following are gimmick rallye class structures that TRC has used in the past.

The most experienced person in the car has always determined the car's class. Also, TRC's class structure has always been considered a general guideline. Rallyists are encouraged to discuss their situation with the rallyemaster or other club personnel if they have previous or out-of-area rallye experience, or if they think they would not be competitive in the class assigned by the structure.

1982–1988 (5 Classes)

There was no Master Expert class in TRC's early rallyes.

First Timer This is your first gimmick (or variety) rallye.
Beginner You have won zero or one gimmick rallye awards.
Novice You have won two to five gimmick rallye awards.
Senior You have won more than five gimmick rallye awards.
Expert You (and we) know who you are.
