Timed Rallye Class Structure
Unlike gimmick rallyes, timed rallye classes depend on both your past experience and the equipment you are using. Note that there is no limit on computational equipment, as long as it is not connected to an odometer (or any other mileage measuring device).
Class A: Unlimited Equipment
Regardless of their past experience, teams must compete in this class if they are using
- a non-stock odometer (or one with precision finer than 0.1 miles),
- an odometer in a non-stock location, or
- an odometer connected to any computational equipment.
Class B: Expert
Teams that have won more than 5 First Place awards in timed rallyes.
Expert teams may use only a stock odometer (with precision no finer than 0.1 miles) in a stock location, not connected to any computational equipment.
Class C: Novice
Teams that have won fewer than 3 First Place awards in timed rallyes as Novices (5 total First Place awards, including the 2 won as Beginners).
Novice teams may use only a stock odometer (with precision no finer than 0.1 miles) in a stock location, not connected to any computational equipment.
Class D: Beginner
Teams that have won fewer than 2 First Place awards in timed rallyes.
Beginner teams may use only a stock odometer (with precision no finer than 0.1 miles) in a stock location, not connected to any computational equipment.
